Lawrence wins Weaverville mayoral race, plus other Municipal Election results

WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The contest is over for the Weaverville and Woodfin Municipal Election held today, Nov. 4, 2025. 2,702 ballots were cast, making up 22.85% of registered voters in the four eligible precincts.

Weaverville

Mayor

Dee Lawrence has become the newest mayor of Weaverville with 68.17% of the vote against opponent Andrew Nagle’s 31.7%.

Two ballots were cast for a write-in candidate, making up .13% of the vote.

Town Council

There were three seats up for grabs on the Weaverville Town Council, which Jennifer Young, Phil Barnett and Mark Endries have successfully won with 26.63%, 25.18% and 20.03% of the vote, respectively.

Their defeated opponents include Fred Borth, David King and Eleanor Mrozkowski.

Woodfin

Town Council

The Woodfin Town Council also had three seats up for election, now filled by Phillip Cohen with 29.96% of the vote, Maxwell “Chip” Parton III with 29.92% and Dan Bowers with 25.87%.

Marcy Pozner-Thompson was defeated with 13.57% of the vote, while 18 ballots were submitted for write-in candidates.

Buncombe-Woodfin Sanitary Water & Sewer District Trustee

Three water and sewer trustee positions were up for election, with Larry HopkinsGordon Maybury and Carter James reigning triumphant over Hannah Rice and five write-in ballots.
