Fentanyl, crack cocaine seized in Swannanoa drug bust

SWANNANOA, N.C. (828newsNOW) — 71-year-old Larry O’Connor Green was arrested by Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office deputies for fentanyl trafficking and other drug charges.

According to the BCSO, Green was arrested by Community Oriented Policing team members on Wednesday, July 15, at Green’s residence, located at 112 Patton Hill Road in Swannanoa, N.C.

“Deputies worked closely with community members to locate and arrest Green who is suspected of selling illegal narcotics,” BCSO said.

During the search of Green’s home, deputies confiscated 7.6 grams of fentanyl and 10.4 grams of crack cocaine.

Green was charged with:

  • Trafficking in fentanyl
  • Possession of fentanyl
  • Felony possession of Schedule II CS
  • Maintain vehicle/dwelling/place CS
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

“Deputies will collaborate closely with community members to address violations of the law within their neighborhoods,” said BCSO District 1 Captain Dustan Auldredge in a statement. “The Sheriff’s Office aims to build connections with our communities to create safe environments.”

Green was booked under a 115,000 secured bond.
