FAIRVIEW, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A 28-year-old man charged in a Buncombe County triple homicide case has been extradited to Western North Carolina and is now being held without bond.

Authorities said Devan Loving arrived in Buncombe County at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, where he was served warrants charging him with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of conspiracy to commit murder and one count of child abduction. He was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility.

Loving and co-defendant Star Grant, 16, were arrested in Sevier County, Tennessee, following the deaths of three family members in Fairview. Grant, who is being charged as an adult, also faces three counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony conspiracy to commit murder.

The charges stem from the deaths of Travis Eugene Grant, 41, Kimberly Michelle Grant, 42, and Sharon Harwood Grant, 66. Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered the three victims dead from gunshot wounds May 8 inside a home on Ashworth Drive in Fairview.

Before their extradition, authorities said Loving and Grant waived extradition proceedings in Tennessee, allowing them to be returned to North Carolina.

Investigators said detectives traveled to Gatlinburg to interview the suspects and that information gathered during those interviews led to the murder and conspiracy charges.
