FAIRVIEW, N.C. (828newsNOW) — What began as a series of unanswered phone calls and welfare checks in a quiet Fairview area has evolved into one of Buncombe County’s most shocking homicide investigations in recent memory.

Over the course of just days, authorities discovered three family members dead inside their home, tracked two suspects across state lines to Tennessee, and brought both back to North Carolina to face murder charges. Since then, emotional courtroom appearances, new details from investigators and grieving relatives have continued to draw intense public attention.

Here is a timeline of the investigation into the deaths of Travis, Kimberly and Sharon Grant and the charges against 16-year-old Star Grant and 28-year-old Devan Loving.
